My top 3 goals this year were related to financial satisfaction, physical health and writing. This post is about writing. The goal for this year is to finish my book. Recently I ran across a quote by author Julia Cameron on how to find time to write and it really solidified dedication to my goal. She says,
“The “if I had time” lie is a convenient way to ignore the fact that novels require being written and that writing happens a sentence at a time. Sentences can happen in a moment. Enough stolen moments, enough stolen sentences, and a novel is born — without the luxury of time.”
So inspiring!! Y’see, this is how I write … a sentence here and there. The Notes section of my phone is filled with ramblings, realizations, meaningful moments and stories all of which just need to be arranged in some magical format of flow to be shared. I find myself SAYING all the time that I need to find more time to write but really I'm doing it! Recognizing that I am doing the thing I long to do without “the luxury of time” is EXACTLY what manifesting is. So … yes... I am reminding myself daily that I am completely on track with my book. Every word I intentionally and creatively lay down in front of the other IS a step forward. But it’s the same for ANY goal that ANY of us have, isn’t it? And we get hung up on and disillusioned by the weight of expectation the end result holds. We need to give ourselves grace and some credit!! Let’s allow ourselves to recognize even the tiniest step toward a goal is progress and celebrate it! As the wise Desmond Tutu once said “There is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time."
The future is already ours, let's embrace it.
New classes and retreats are being announced soon! I hope you will join us! The Garden of the Goddesses is here to gather, connect, support and empower. We are stronger together, ladies!!
